Success Story
Amputations due to lack of access to microsurgeons
Shira clamps make microsurgery simpler
Save amputations with improved access to microsurgery
Mr. Rajesh (Name Changed), a 32 year old press-machine worker from Vellore, a sole breadwinner in a family of 4, lost the thumb on his right hand due to an injury while working. This loss of thumb would mean loss of skill, employment and livelihood.
He travelled 150km away to Chennai, where expert microsurgeons transferred his toe from the foot to his hand to regain thumb function.
Shira Microvascular Clamps were used for this surgery.
Many patients are not as fortunate as Mr. Rajesh and often live a life with amputation because of lack of access to microsurgeons near them.
Shira is on a mission to make microsurgery accessible to all. Join us on this journey!
